Well, of course I am a nurse, and have been for about 14 yrs. Right now I am the director of restorative services at a skilled nursing facility, aka nursing home. I like taking care of the elderly, they're great. You can learn so much from their life experiences, and one really important thing I've learned is no matter how old you get, your essence doesn't change.
As far as me, I got into nursing quite by accident. I was going to the vocational school to get some sort of degree in IT and the classes were full, but the nursing classes weren't. They offered me a place in the LPN class, so I said, "what the heck, I'll try it." Who knew at that time it was my calling. I love nursing. It's my thing. I furthered my education and got my BSN recently because this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Hope I'm not comming across as shallow, I'm not. Just happy with my job and life.
