Hello all!
I posted this very same thing in the "introduce yourself"-"sticky"...but figured it was worth posting out here too.
I have been lurking here and there for a little while and finally joined.
This is just a gold mine of a site for the student or practicing nurse!
I feel very fortunate to have stumbled on to this place when I did.
I am just turned 35 (for the third year in a row!

)...(I "stuck" at 35...)
I live in the mountains of Vermont and am in my second semester of my 3 trimester LPN program. I am currently applying to the school's RN program as we speak--and it is giving me gray hairs as it is an extremely competative program.
The experience thus far has been humbling, back breaking, ego-checking, and trying to say the least....but I am more convinced than ever that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I love the work. When I am exhausted after a crazy clinical day--I will still beg for observation time at my local ER!!
This is my second life and second degree (I have a BS in Biology and Env. Sci.) and I have been working for a few years now as an EMT-I with a local rescue squad--and experience that deepened my love for work in the healthcare field, and drew my closer to persuing my nursing dream.
I look forward to "meeting" and speaking with a lot of you and thank you again for the great forum.
Very Best,
EVT
