hi my name is brenda lee, i am an LPN in a nursing home, graduated from an RN program, taken the NCLEX exam 5 times, gonna try again in NOV, any advice, its frustrating to take the exam on the computer

Hi Brenda and welcome to All Nurses. I'm sorry about your NCLEX experience. I'm sure you've probably done the review courses. Have you considered seeing a counselor because you may have test anxiety? Just a stray thought.

This is my standard response to those taking NCLEX this letter

helped me more than anything in understanding the test and that you will miss about half of the questions. When you miss one the point is not to panic or change your thought pathways, a lot of people will tell you that if you continue to get questions about a subject you have missed the previous questions, not necessarily true the questions get more difficult. Also I used my local library and checked out every NCLEX book they had and reviewed from all not just one. The Kaplan has a very good prefix about testing strategies it also helped me.
What state are you in? I beleive here you must have refresher course if you don't pass in three attempts, Just curious.

yes, i have done all of the nclex review books and decided to seek dona anderson w ho helps point out the problem, i almost passed in may, near passing every category, i know i can do it, yes i have test anxiety

its just that i want to be an RN, LPN work is alot more than i thought, working with the elderly is tough, i am trained to work in a hospital

/i am from NH, i am currently an LPN, i am reviewing the Saunders nclex book these days and going to see don anderson at my school when i can come up with the @200$ for the course, i was near passing last time, i just want to pass in november so i can work as an RN, i went to Rivier college, an RN school, graduated in 2003 and 9 classes from getting my BSN- thanks

i am going to make an appt with don naderson who does the review course but i have to come up with 200$ first, thanks
