Smile Hey everybody!!!!

Hi!!!
I'm new here.
I'm starting my BSN this fall and was wondering if I should try to get my CPR certification before I start school or not?

Feedback would be much appreciated!!!

THANKS!

Re: Hey everybody!!!!

Welcome.

Most programs require you get your CPR before school starts, so I would get it out of the way if I were you.

Good luck!

Welcome to allnurses.com!

I agree w/ Tweety; most schools want proof of CPR before you get in. Plus, one never knows when that training will be of use...and school will be hectic.

Re: Hey everybody!!!!

Howdy and welcome, I agree with the above that most schools require you to have CPR certification before you start, just remember you need to take the healthcare provider course. I didn't realize that there were 2 different courses, one that is for healthcare providers and then one that is for the regular population that wants to learn CPR.

Re: Hey everybody!!!!

and Welcome to allnurses.com

Glad to have you. I might add that most programs desire the American Heart Association BLS (CPR) course. And, yes, the Healthcare provider level as luvmy2angels pointed out.

Enjoy the site.
