Hello Folks!
To start out by introducing myself, I am a 27 year old married mother to a great husband and have 2 wonderful kids... a 5 year old and a 1 year old. My husband was recently discharged from the US Navy and we moved back out to Oklahoma (which is were we both grew up at) from Southern California.
I am fixing to start College in a few months for a Nursing Program at a local community college and after lurking the forums for sometime, have found the information here quite interesting! I must say that I admire what everyone does in the Nursing field. Reading some of these posts here have really giving me hope to do what I would love to do!!
My father passed away in Jan. 2006 of COPD/Congestive Heart Failure at the age of 64. He was on Hospice for 3 weeks prior to his passing and seeing how compassionate his Nurses were to him and me helping my mother care for him has really inspired me to look into this field... the only down fall is that it took a tragedy to do this for me.
So to make a long story very short, I really look forward to chatting with you all and hopefully getting some great info on my new start to a very hard yet rewarding career.
If anyone has any suggestions for a newbie Nurse student, who is nervous as heck, it would greatly be appericiated!!
