hello new here

Hello, new member here as well as ner ADN as of may 2005. just wanted to drop a line and say hi to everyone. I am a 30 year old single mom to twin 9 year old (both disabled which perked my interest for nursing) boys. Actually went to school for almost a solid ten years....kinda a career college student, lol kept changing my mind on majors. Well nursing kinda stuck. Right now I have my ADN only (which was a bigger challenge than ANYTHING else I tried to major in), but since I already have all my basics for my BA, I will probably start looking into that online. I am not in a hurry though, I have 10 years of education, some of that which included social work and nutrition. That was nice though, I found both to be especially helpful in nursing. In fact I think both shouuld be learned in order to be a nurse. As an ADN, we really had very little education on nutrition. BUT MAN DO I EVER KNOW MY PHARMACOLOGY, lol. I had never in my life actually studied hours and hours for days and days and still got a 58 on a test. Thank God my next tests were over oncology drugs (my son had leukemia, I know my chemo drugs) and antibiotics (again, my son being neutropenic for 2.5 years). Strange how life works. That literally pulled me through that class. That women failed 28 out of 48 students. lol No A's, some B's and a lot of us that just skimmed by with a C. Weird considering I know my drugs very well and always was my highest scoring area on practice exams. But I swear, I didnt learn a thing from her, I learned it all from my kids. Tell me what you are trying to accomplish when you give a student a book, tell them they better know that WHOLE book front to back by the end of the semester and then didnt even use that book to test on. lol psycho, she liked failing people. anyway, nice being here. i hope to learn a lot more on here.
