Just as an introduction- my name is Donna and I am an RN from Pittsburgh, PA. I have a BA in English Lit, a diploma in nursing, and a BSN earned online from Slippery Rock University. I've done critical care nursing, long-term care, and nursing administration. I am currently working as a nurse for a private company that does drug and vaccine research. It is not nursing research- but it is research that is valuable in the discovery of and use of vaccines and new medications. It isn't a well-paying job, but it's Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays off, no shifts, no being on call! After 22 years in nursing, I was ready for a slower pace.
I have 2 teenage children- Dan is 19 and a freshman in college, studying computers. Caitie is 17 and a junior in high school. Sadly, neither one wants to be a nurse. My hubby of 22 years is a civil engineer.
Nice to "meet" you all. I used discussion boards extensively with my BSN program and kind of miss all the posting and discussion!
Welcome Donna!
Hope you enjoy yourself here!
You seem to have a great, well-rounded education!
As a student, I might be coming to you for advice & insight!
Welcome to allnurses, Donna. I grew up in western PA and graduated from Duquesne. I've been gone for almost 20 years, but I love to go back and visit. It's a great city!
