Hello,
I am new to the forum. I am a professional individual that have worked in the corporate, aeronautical, pharmaceutical, medical, sales and governmental environments. Now at the age of 40 I find this burning desire to become more than just a person that makes alot of money or wins awards, but someone who wants to make a difference in individuals lives, one person at a time. I've always wanted to be a nurse and now, I am looking to start in that direction. I am a mother of 2 chidren ages 3 & 5, married for 10 years. About 10 years ago my interest was peaked into nursing because my father (now deceased) was diagnosed with renal failure. If it had not been for the personal attention and consideration of his nurses, I don't think he would have lasted as long as he did. When I gave birth to my children, I couldn't help being moved by how caring and considerate the nurses where that took care of me and my newborn child.
I have at one time been an office manager for a pediatric office, how I yearned to be able to treat some of the patients instead of just giving directions to my staff administratively. It was at that time when I decided I needed to pursue my dream of nursing. But the question is, am I too old to pursue this life-long dream?
