Talking Hello All!!

HI, finnaly i passed my state boards and am practicing as an RN . I must say I love the job, it is so much different than the nursing school i attended, but it is very interesting. I am working on a Med/Surge Float shift and would love any advice that you can offer. Hope you all have a wonderful evening!!!

Welcome, Lauralea!
Congrats on passing boards!

I'm a new LPN getting ready to start working in med/surg. Could you tell me what a "float shift" is? Thanks.

Wink float shift

hey there, good luck on your new job as well. I was hired on a float shift between the medical floor and the surgical floor. in my hospital they are seperate. I am assigned each day to the floor that needs me most, this is why they call me a float nurse. it is a little odd getting to know everyone and getting comfortable on a floor and then the next day you do not know where they are going to send you, but i am getting used to it.
