Re: Hard of hearing/ Deaf...any one?

While I am not considered hearing-impaired, I have suffered from tinnitus (continuous ringing in the ears) since 2001. I have learned to adapt and live with this condition, but I always wish I could just turn back the hands of time and return to the days when I did not have tinnitus.

Good luck with your pursuits!

Re: Hard of hearing/ Deaf...any one?

Hi I wear bilateral hearing aids and I am a nursing student that is expecting to graduate in May. It is not too much of a problem. Most everyone that I work with knows that I have a hearing problem. And when they speak to me they speak directly to me. I am sure that you will not have any issues. What kind of stetho to do you have? I have an electronic one that is amazing....

Thank god i found you ...I myself have bilateral hearing loss, i am soon to be fitted with my Hearing Aids . I am trying to get in for Fall 2007 and i know i would to.
As for the Steths, my sister who is a Donor /Tissue specialist and a RN, she is talking to me about the Lithman 4000. I wish i get luck just as you....Where are you going to school? I hope i really get enrolled in a good school because Lord knows its already hard for me with my hearing problem and all then to have to go to a school and deal with peers and other obsticles that can be avoided. I Donot need this ...but i am Ready . Dont disappear on me please I need you. LOL....

I'm not hearing impaired, but I applaud your decision not to let it affect you.

Re: Hard of hearing/ Deaf...any one?

I really dont consider myself hearing impaired, because nobody even knows I was hard of hearing if I didn't tell them. Its just that I miss some slight details, and I dont want to look like an idiot and keep saying "huh, or what"etc...
I go to HACC, Harrisburg area Comm. College it is in Pennsylvania. I just want to mention, I have 2 in the ear hearing aids, so I didn't want a traditional stetho, because I would have to take the aids out everytime I listened. Therefore, I got a cardio electronic scope, It looks like a headset. The only thing is that it is a little cumbersome. But it works wonderfull. I love it.
