Hi, I joined this site this wkend. I've been retired from nsg for 19 yrs. after being employed for 14 yrs. I have a BSN, love maternal/child nsg. I have 3 kids, all in h.s., so college is around the corner. I live in Ga with my husband & children & many pets. I've lived around the country, "corporate life"! I'm trying to get a pulse on the idea of returning to the profession, after an extensive refresher course. For those struggling nsg school; it does get better! Once you get some confidence in what your learning, the pieces will all fall into place. Again, for those just begomming their work experience, it too get's much better. Oh don't get me wrong; I remember being short staffed, & thinking the shift would never end; but if you truley love what you do, then you will succeed. That's what's driving me back to nsg even after such a long time away. I'm not stupid, I know it will be a sturggle. I'm very concerned with the 12hr shifts. I remember how tired I was when I was younger & without kids. I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for all the comments. I was wondering, is anybody happy working as a nurse? The post that I've read so far, seem so depressing.
