Furthering my education

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the site, I am a Licensed Practical Nurse whose mother was recently diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. I am currrently a salon owner/cosmetologist, but would like to further my nursing education.
My husband says that I am a lifetime student, because I am always looking for something new to study; but my mothers illness has rekindled my passion for Nursing. It's funny how many converts(nursing to cosmetologist, etc.) I have seen in the past few months! I would like to know what credentials/training are needed to work in a Nursery in Louisiana?
Thank you ASuire
