Smile Coming to the Dark Side

Hello everyone,

First off the title is a joke please do not get PO'd at me.

I am now officially on my way to becoming a Nursing student. After 19 yrs in EMS, 15 of those as a Paramedic I have decided its time to hang up my jump kit and get a real job. It's amazing how much it can hurt to jump in & out of a unit when your pushing forty. So after much deliberation and internal debate I have decided to join my wife and drop the pre- off pre-hospital care.

I would love to hear from anyone who has made this jump and can give me advice to help me with the transition and prepare for Nursing school.

Thanks,
Tripps

Good Day, Tripps, and :groupwelcome:

Glad you have decided to join us. I'm sure there will be many here who will be able to assist you in your transition, as there are plenty who have done the same, or continue to do both.

Re: Coming to the Dark Side

Although not a paramedic, I was a volunteer EMT-B for my local ambulance. I did it for a few years and kind of got sick of all the politics of it. From the gossiping to the backstabbing etc. Now I am going to start my LPN classes on March 12th
