Hello, my name is Ildi. I am a Canadian RN with 7yrs of nursing experince in various areas ranging from palliative, med/surg, neuro, post partum, to corrections in max.security prison at present. I have completed the Legal Nurse Consultant course via long distance though Kaplan University and almost completed the Forensic Nursing course through them. I am looking forward to relocating with my family (husband, 3 kids+dog+cat ect.)to Florida this year (hopefully) I am sick of the long, c..c...cold winters!! Anyway with these two certificates I am interested in finding a job perhaps as a medical bill auditor as an LNC, or work for a criminal law firm that deals with SANE-A, SANE-peds. and domestic violence. The problem is it is more challenging than I thought since not to many people know or have even heard of a forensic nurse or LNC .
These are pretty new areas of nursing so even job searches are ineffective. I heave went as far as calling hospitals cold turkey off of a yellow page listing but again...never heard of aN LNC or clinical forensic nurse. I have even contacted the state medical examiner's office but of course no luck. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?
