Blue pre-nursing student

Hi, guys I am new to nursing actually my story goes like this. I orginally went to school for social work and have two degrees to show it but that's not where my heart is, nursing has always been in the back of my head but I just never took the iniative to make it happen until one day I realized that the job I currently have I didn't want to do long-term I mean all day I am at a desk and that's when nursing started rearing it's head again and then at that moment I decided and the following week did it. I enrolled in prerequisite courses at my local community college. I am currently taking Anatomy and Physiology I and so far so good. We have our first test Monday. I would be lying if I said I wasn't apprehensive about trying to enter nursing school next year there is always that fear of rejection but it's what I want. Can anyone relate? And anyone got any pointers for a first timer???

Re: Blue pre-nursing student

Good luck to you.

I was very nervous too and had low self-esteem. Which was too bad, because self-confidence is half the battle.

Welcome!

Re: Blue pre-nursing student

Hello blue! i'm new here too. first post!

i am in the same boat! i have an unrelated degree...well its in bio but its a BA...and i just started taking pre-reqs at my local cc too. i'm in A & P 2 and i also have my first test monday, then another on tues . i actually still have to take A & P 1!

so, how many pre-reqs do you need? i thought i would be all set for december, but the more i look into the 2 schools i would like to get into, i may have to wait. i didnt do so well in chem, and i already have 3 classes i need to take in the fall since none of them are being offered around here this summer. i too am very nervous about getting in to the schools i want to.

anyways, it was great to see someone else here going thru the same things i am.

here's wishing us both luck on our first test of the summer!! :biere:

Re: Blue pre-nursing student

I started my prereqs this summer, I'm in Bio 210 (A and P One) I find it rather easy as long as I STUDY!!! I mean I study everyday! I had my first test I think it was a week ago, I made a 95!! I was soooo happy, now I KNOW I can do it!! I have been accepted into the program for this fall. I will only have my math and first bio out of the way, so it will be hard. I am nervous but I am sooooo very excited!! Finally, I get what I want!!! Take care, and I hope it will all work out! Usually when I am nervous it means I know I'm doing the right thing, weird!!
