Smile Aspiring RN

Just decided to say hello to everyone. I'm a student in a BSN program in LA. If anyone has any tips for survival in nursing school I would love to know what helped you.

Re: Aspiring RN

Know that you will experience times of pressure and stress, esp when NCLEX is near, but thats a long way off for you. Usually when you anticipate stress or difficulties, you can and most likely will deal with them better. Of course you may not experience any stress, you may glide right through nrsg school and pass with flying colors, I did. But I still had hair falling out even though I didn't know I was even under any stress. Be prepared and have fun, don't let negative or sad stories of nrsg school, cloud your goals and dreams. We've all been there, Good Luck, from one nurse to another!

When you anticipate stress, usually you can deal with them better. Nrsg school is full of stress, just like any other schooling for any other career. You may pass thru nrsg school with flying colors, who knows? We've all been there, don' t worry, it'll have its ups and downs and maybe some doubts. Don't let any negative or sad stories of nrsg school cloud your dreams, goals, or desires! Remember, study slow and hard. Break material up and group them together by relation. Good Luck, from one nurse to another!

Talking Re: Aspiring RN

Welcome to the world of nursing! I will be graduating in May '08. My advise to you is to be sure to make the most out the years you are in school. I hear so many students say that they "just want it (school) to be over". It is hard, consuming and often stressful. However, this is a good chunk of time in your life. Don't wish it all away. Enjoy it! And if you can't enjoy it, still try to take it one day at a time while you are taking it all in. Life is short. Going to school is a gift. Allow yourself to slow down and appreciate it.
