Question Any Suggestions about grants

Hi my name is Lisa and I am from Connecticut. After many years of being out of school I have decided to go to school for nursing. I am in the process of taking the basic classes first. I am having a hard time finding grants and loans in my CT area. Does anyone with experience have any advice? Please help...Lisa

Lisa. are you currently working? Check around with some of your local hospitals and nursing homes. Some of them will help with grants if you'll agree to work for them for a period of time after you graduate. Worth a try if you're not planning on relocating immediately after graduating. Delayna

Have you checked out the website listed below? They have lots of scholarships you can apply for. The bummer is most of the deadlines have past for the fall but you can catch some spring scholarship money!!

Also, do a search on metacrawler or some other search engine for scholarship money, I found a ton of sites out there! Good luck!

Thank you, I will try a few of these sites and let you know what I come up with. I am working 40 hours as a Office Manager. I have not entered the nursing field yet. I am looking into the hospitals around where I live. I really appreciate the help. I have to admit, it's tough raising 2 children, working 40 hrs and having a husband not really supporting a major change. I am still going to do it!!! Thank god I am a strong person.
