What to be when I grow up

Ok so I realize that this post may be answered somewhat bias, but here it goes...
I am currently a newer nurse working in a ICU(we get CVICU/SICU/MICU pts). I know that I want to go back to school to my my MSN because I do truly enjoy learning. I have done pre hospital work prior and during my nursing school/career and I love it. I am however very practical and have been thinking about what my final goal it but I'm not sure what it actually is. I have thought a lot about trying to go back to be a CRNA because it seems like that would be a great fit for me but I can't help but think about how much fun flight would be too. I know that I need to shadow both which I have in the works, so I just Im just looking for any thoughts/insight/opinions. Thanks for reading and hopefully giving me some guidance.

be safe.

PS: Im sorry I know this type of post comes in all the time.

Re: What to be when I grow up

Cheers,

I was once at the same fork-in-the-road as you are now. I was at the peak tolerance of my career in both ground EMS and ICU's. CRNA was an appealing option given the salary and autonomy. Flight nursing interested me b/c of the autonomy (adv. protocol sets), specificity (isolating those needing the services of HEMS), and, of course, the excitement of flight medicine in general. Believe it or not, it actually took me several months of "soul searching" to arrive at the answer for me.. and I'm happy I took the time.
It looks like your young enough to recover from any career "detour" though so I wouldn't sweat it too much..
My advice to you is just to take your time in weighing the two and put some deep thought in what YOU believe will keep you motivated enough to roll out of bed on those rough, sleepless nights and put a kick in your step..

Good luck...
