Red face Flight nurse questions

Hi everyone,

I am writing a paper on flight nursing, and I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of my questions! If so, could I cite your name in my paper? Thank you!

Are there specific legal/liability issues that pertain to flight nursing?

How are the job opportunities?

Is continuing education required?

Are there additional costs (e.g. credentialing organization dues, national testing and licensure, and required continuing education)?

Are there specific legal/liability issues that pertain to flight nursing?Yes, we're doing advanced procedures: central lines (femoral), sternal/humeral head IO's, surgical crics, advanced pharmacology: paralytics, propofol, fentanyl etc...

How are the job opportunities?Actually pretty good; especially if you are willing to relocate. Some complain that the profession is being "dumbed down" to accomadate the need. (Maybe there is just less 'egos', I don't know.)

Is continuing education required? Yes.. plenty.. (see above.)

Are there additional costs (e.g. credentialing organization dues, national testing and licensure, and required continuing education)?
yes and your employer should reimburse for the cost. But maybe not the organization dues and licensure.
