Trigger Point Injections for Abdominal Adhesions
Just had my 4th adhesion cleanout back in February, and the little buggers are back again complete with partial small bowel obstruction, pain, nausea and vomiting. Joy! Last time this happened I tried a pain doc who tried me on topomax which turned my hands, feet and tongue numb, so I quit taking it. Never did help the pain response either. Unfortunately, narcotics are thing only thing I've found that actually helps with the pain and allows me to function. My SBOs are in the area of my old gallbladder surgery, and I'm thinking it's buried so far under the right rib cage that trigger point injections will be an exercise in futility. Any thoughts?
I've also heard plexus blocks are more painful than they're worth. How successful are they in the real world as far as abdominal pain goes?
