Re: wi salary

It really depends on where you are. VA starts at $30 an hour I've been told, UW a bit less.

Re: wi salary

The UW begins at $25.07 for brand new grads. So it's only up from there.

Re: wi salary

What about southern WI, Kenosha, Racine area hospitals what do they start you out at $? I will be a brand new RN in WI with 6 years of experience in emergency medical services, management, and some ER tech experience. Thanks. Silika.

Re: wi salary-LPN

Hi,

I am considering moving to southern WI (Beloit/Janesville/Madison area) in a year or so. At present I am an LPN with three years LTC experience. I am working on the ASN-RN also, with Excelsior college. I am hoping that I can get my RN license before moving, but if not I would want to work as an LPN. Does anyone know about how much the hourly wage is for that area in a LTC facility?

Another question I have for those of you from WI; Does the WI BON accept the ASN from Excelsior college? How about a RN license from NJ, if the nurse graduated from Excelsior?

Thanks for any help!

Kelly in NJ

Re: wi salary

I am a new grad nurse in the OR and I started at $22.50 an hour, from what I am seeing this seems kind of low. I graduated on the deans list and have 5 weeks of OR experience via a summer elective. Anyone have any input on this?

*** Nurses pay in Wisconsin ranges from very good to abysmal. I don't know anything about the Milwaukee area but around Madison starting pay for new grads is over $28 at some of the hospitals. Here in central Wisconsin new grads start at less than $21 and hour. The Ministry system is the lowest paying health care system in the state by a wide margin.
