Hey Lady, I am still at Sharpe, but... not sure if that is where I want to be. I think i would like to be appreciated more , by the patients i mean of course. The people I work for and with are great and the benefits are pretty good too. I guess I would like to work more and see time go by faster staying busy. Right now I'm on night shift. I would like to see people get better and less behavior. Maybe i would like to see people less, like OR or ER, i don't know really.

Hey ed,
I know what u mean about interacting with some of the patients on psych. But, just a random thought, if the people u work with r good, pay ok, and benefits too, just wait awhile before u jump ship. Up there its a long drive for work, especially in bad weather. Have a great day.

Right now I'm drivig 33 miles to work, much more than that and i would relocate. One of the greatest benes is the amount of time off you can acrue very quickly and the amount of total time you can get off with pay. The insurance is pretty good and it is a state job for what it's worth. I know i get antsy pretty quickly. Something else I'm learning is that nurses must save for their retirement or work to a ripe old age or both. Oh well at least I have a job and a roof over my head and food and all that good stuff.

Hey ed,
I drove 47 miles one way for years. I know about long distances. Funny how I could often make it to work but people close were not able to get there on paved streets and cops willing to pick them up. LOL!
You said you want some med/surg experience, so go to a facility, talk to them, pick up a day or so a week. Even LTC will be a change.
Have a good day.
