Hello, I will be going into my senior year in the BSN program at Marshall and the best advice I can give you is to be prepared to give up 4 years of your life. You will eat and breathe nursing. We started out with 102 students in my class and we are now around 45 students. If you can stay away from the parties and stay focused on your nursing classes you will be fine. Do not expect this to be easier than Microbiology and your anatomy classes, nursing courses are way harder. You will do a lot of critical thinking which makes sense since you will have lives in your hands. Your family will not see much of you. While your friends are having a good time you will be hitting the books hard. I am not trying to scare you but I am being truthful. Make sure this is the field you want to go into because in your junior year you will be very disappointed in the choice you have made. I see it everyday. You will jump through many hoops to reach the mark. You will realize the weeding out process never really ends which is shown by the number of students who have dropped out or failed out (102 to 45). It is real rewarding and you will learn to be a nurse while learning how to establish responsibility for yourself and others.
Good Luck
