Isn't there anything we can talk about on here?

Isn't there something we all could kinda chat about here? It seems like we don't talk much. I know I don't.

There really arent a lot of regular posters here. Most come and go. But you come up with the post and I will give my opinion!

Is everybody getting flu shots this year or not?

What plans do u have for the holidays? Who will work? Who wants to work? Who does not?

Does anybody feel like the new license system here stinks?

Jump in anytime u guys..... LOL!

I've been straining my brain. I volunteered to moderate this forum, since I live in WV. Now I feel like I really ought to be able to come up with some topics. Tried last night, but I'm an avid birdwatcher, and I heard Morgantown was being invaded by Cardinals, so I had to keep an eye on that! (See how neatly I avoided an off-topic football post? What do you mean, birdwatching's off-topic, too?)

Anyway, yes, I got a flu shot. Only missed it last year because I already had the flu. Have to check my schedule on the holidays. I guess I'm okay on the new license system--do you have specific complaints? I have only ever done on-line renewals, so I can't really compare. I am a bit confused about the CEUs.

There are three different topics in barefootlady's post. If anyone wants to run with them, I suggest starting a thread for each.

Meanwhile, I have to get ready for work. Maybe I can stir up some controversy, there. (Kinda hoping not, though...)

I think the reason the state forums are slow is that most people check out "new posts" vs. going to certain forums.

And they read a myriad of forums and threads.

I am not getting the flu shot, I for the most part stay away from people. To me the risks just arent worth it, I am young and healthy though, maybe when I get older.

I dont really have any plans for the holidays. I dont care to work since I get paid extra. I dont like the new license system either and I really dont like them taking 10 dollars from me to waste on a committee addressing the nursing shortage when the answers are pretty obvious.

Re: Isn't there anything we can talk about on here?

Well I'm off today but heading back to work tommorrow thru through thursday. i want to work but i'm not sure what i want to do. I currently work in what i am good at... pity though. I have never gotten a flu shot and i didn't get it this year. I think i need to get some med-surg and medical type experience. I would also enjoy making a few more $$$. Well back to surfing the forums.

I always get my flu shot since I work in ICU and ppl are ALWAYS dragging in something (pts and visitors). I have "lung rot" and can't afford to get the flu or pneumonia.

Re: Isn't there anything we can talk about on here?

I usually haunt this forum. I'm from Huntington and live in Baltimore MD for the last 4 years. I miss home (WAA). It seems to me that no matter where you are licensed, it's always some added expense or hassle to get your license. All that stuff is in a computer somewhere and they have the NERVE to charge what they charge???!!!!!

Re: Isn't there anything we can talk about on here?

I agree that the increase in the money for the license for this committee was and is a waste.

I have enough CEU's for the state and will, of course get 30 more after Jan.08 just to keep myself above what most of the states I have a license in require.

No flu shot for me. I had a reaction to one once and will never get another.

Cardinals in Morgantown, imagine that. Well, I did hear there was a sudden surge at all of the area movie theaters to what some sort of activity these Cardinals engage in. Can anyone tell me if it was
the 'eers sighting in the black powder rifle? The hubby said his Hawkin 300 is in fine shape.
