Anyone ever took the Street Level Airway Management or the Advance Burn Life support course?? Are they worth it?

I have ABLS. It was worth it. Even working in burns at the time, I learned a lot.

Out of all the classes I've taken, I think ABLS has been the best course yet. Of course, I'm a burn nurse, so I use it everyday.

I took the SLAM course in Dallas TX back in 2005. It was pretty expensive, but the cadaver lab was worth the experience. Hands on time was pretty limited.

The lectures were well done and delivered by experts in the field. Ramsey himself did a lecture on sedation. Time at the skill stations was a little more limited than I would have figured. In addition, I only had one rototion through the cadavers and tissue lab. In spite of these drawbacks, it was a professional course and interacting with physicians and experts in the field was refreshing. In addition, it is hard to find a good cadaver lab in the USA, so I take what I can get.

I took ABLS and was not impressed. Granted, it was new at the institution, 2nd time I think. However, the place I work at already offered their own in house course and it was very in depth, so the info was redundant.
