moral boosting ideas

Hello my fellow ER nurses. I am working on improving the moral in our department as well as improving the relationship between day shift and night shift. (wish me luck on the second one) Anyway. I am trying to think of ideas to help our dept. We have food day a couple times per month. I have started to gather recipes for an ER cookbook too. I am trying to plan activities for ER nurses day in October. Any ideas or fun things you do in your department would be grrrrrreat. Thanks

Sounds like fun and an excellent idea. How about pot lucks. Everyone brings a dish and shares it. Also how about a raffle of something useful and that everyone might want.

Good luck,
Jessica

We try and do department night outs...we often do office parties for happy hour...or we all try and go to a baseball game together....that's always fun, and usually not that expensive...and the ball game is family oriented..so it includes everyone...night out at the movies would be a fun time too....

Our manager just started a really cool thing. He set up a "snack bar" with everything from chocolate, to crackers, to soda, even ice pops in the freezer. All awesome munchy food. We put 50 cents in a container...and the proceeds goes to our appreciation fund. Each month an employee gets appreciated and will get a gift card to something..I thought it was a cool idea and we are all enjoying the goodies even if its grabbed and eaten on the run.
