Tell them you take fexofenadine. You wouldn't be lying, and it is available generically.

One of our graduate students was from Thailand, and the Thai language does not have the "L" sound and she really mangled that word even though she was otherwise fluent in English.

I was working with an RN that on ocassion worked for IV therapy. She called me to ask me to restart an IV that she could not get on a male pt. She further went on to explain that she gave him a really good blow job. She did not know the slang involved until I told her and we had quite a laugh

these are all good!! Here's a few that I hear.

"I fell out" = fainted

"I caught a seizure"

"technical shot"

"vomicking"

"my heart is beeping fast"

"MO-feen"

and once, one of our techs put on the the tracking board "belly ribbon" for a CC, that was supposed to be biliruben.

What about nurses who can't pronounce medications?? Loritab?? Loratab?? Phenergrin?? Or how 'bout Prostrate?? Old timers?? I cringe everytime I hear a coworker mangle medical words!
