Maybe she was carrying her baby because she was totally on her own and had nobody to watch it while she received her diploma? (Really...cause she should have thought about that before letting some screwball talk her into sex) At least she graduated! And I totally hate that word "illegitimate" because the baby didn't do anything wrong. What about the baby's father? Chances are, he isn't a teenager (and might even be her husband!) but that's another issue altogether.

What school hands out condoms in class? I did hear, 15 or 20 years ago, about schools that did that and parents put the kibosh on that right away (not to mention that a lot of the kids were causing disruptions by blowing them up in class or using them as water balloons). Some schools might have them available in the nurse's office, and I wouldn't have a problem with that if they are provided by private donations.
What has happened to mother's teaching their children about their bodies and telling them if you choose to have sex, you risk, STDs, Cervical Cancer, and pregnancy, and your life changing forever....what ever happened to parents actually being parents and raising educated young adults with good morals and a sense of community? What ever happened to those mothers?.....They are laying on the sofa, calling their live in lover their honey, watching trash TV, feeding their kids from the drive-thru rather than getting off the arses and getting it together themselves. I am so appaulled at some of the grandmas I see come in with their teen daughters and grandchildren, I just want to shake them. And, there are so many women out there unable to conceive...yet these ignorant girls who screw not just Dick...but Tom and Harry too.....OMG...lol....get me going....lol

The following post has adult content

What about the fathers of all these children? OTOH, I've learned that if one parent is really dysfunctional, usually the other one is too. Much of the time, the father is in jail and the mom has moved in another ex-con to take his place.

I have a friend who used to be a foster care caseworker, and one thing she never got over was how much those kids always knew about pornography. They would talk about porno actors the way other kids talked about regular actors, and they also knew a lot about sex toys as well. How a pre-teen would even know such things exist unless........you can probably guess.

Re: Medicaid. Is it being abused?

wow.. so many topics going on in this post i don't know where to start lol. to the original topic, i totally agree that a ton of aid is abused, and to all the people that come up w/all the legitimate reasons people are on aid, we're NOT referring to THOSE situations! we're talking about the ppl that won't just buy benadryl OTC b/c they can get it free through aid, or all these teenage girls i get in the ED coming in for pregnancy tests instead of buying one for 10 damn dollars! Every day i see so many pts coming in for the most ridiculous complaints, give each staff member a diff. story for why they're there, constantly yell and complain at staff, and then basically sum it up that all they wanted was a snack pack and some air conditioning. it takes beds away from pts in need, and money out of the pockets of decent hardworking people, AND sheds a bad light on those truely in need of the help!
as for the topic of teen sex.. i am SO sick to death of seeing 16yr olds coming in G 5 P 1 A4, abortion is NOT birth control! if i was smarter, had less morals, and could come up w/some way of secretly injecting birth control into people under 18 that wouldn't be a health hazard, AND i could get away with it.. i'd be the next bill gates lol . babies don't need to be having babies! and parents need to learn how to be parents again, kids need structure, NOT more friends!
wow i sound like a bitter old lady @ 23 HA!
