Mandatory TNCC or ATLS for PACU nurses

Hi Do any other hospitals that are Level One Trauma Centers require TNCC or ATLS certifications for PACU nurses? We handle overflow Trauma Intensive Care Patients more and more frequently in our PACU. I would love to hear your feedback. Thanks.

Re: Mandatory TNCC or ATLS for PACU nurses

I know that some hospitals require TNCC, ATCN, or even ITLS (although it has a prehospital focus), especially for PACU nurses that are part of code/rapid response/emergency response teams.

ATLS is for physicians, but ATCN is the nursing course taught in conjunction with ATLS.

If you are required to take these classes as a requirement for your job, they are required to pay the cost of these classes, and pay you for the days that you are attending.
