Here's one for you...

19 y/0 female accompanied by 2 friends, "I think I'm having an allergic reaction to alcohol. I had 5 beer tonight and now I'm dizzy, weak, and having nausea" Her friends were there to explain how she was also acting differently. Intestinal fortitude by definition may be the ability to keep a straight face.

I'm still laughing cause i thought my ER was the only one who had those types of patients.. They all must be on a bus making regular stops at everyones ER's... How do we get off the bus line..

Thumbs up Its the same *$&! no matter where you are from

No matter where you nurse you get the same pts. everywhere, and if it wasn't for stupidity we would be out of work in ER! Every one in my family that I come across wonders where my empathy and tolerance have gone. My answer is for them to spend a while in ER and they will find out for themselves!!

Hi All,

67yo woman who called 911 came in last night. Chief complaint was that she took Ambien and became drowsy about 1/2 hour later. OH MY GOD!

How about the guy who just got out of the pscyh unit, hasn't slept in six days, and drank soap as a suicide attempt?

Apparently, it was good enough to get him ID'd, hehe

My favorite: a 23 yr old female comes to our er complaining of "severe mouth pain". She had had her tongue pierced that day. I didn't even bother to try and keep a straight face.
