Thumbs up Re: Names

I have 2 sons, 3 grandsons and my sister and brother have 2 boys each. My oldest son and his wife are having a baby in March. IT"S A GIRL!!!!!!
I am so excited. I love my son and daughter in law and I think they are wonderful parents and very successful graphic designers.
They are naming my first granddaughter Talulla Grace I don't even know if thats how it's spelled. I the name of Deme Moore's 3rd daughter.
I have heard of that name many years ago, Tallula Bankhead (giving my age away)
I did'nt have a problem with the name, it is their baby, but when I tell people the name they all make a face and want to know why they would name their child Tallula.
Feedback please.

Re: Names

I had a pt today whose first name is "Abtrimarys." I have never heard of this name before and when I googled it, I got no response, but I may be spelling it wrong. Has anyone else heard of anything like this?

As far as pet names go, my kids are hoping to name their new kitten "Schmildu Jones" I may have to take steps....(yes, my kids are weird)

Demi Moore's child is Tullulah Belle, and i really like it! I think no matter what name someone decides on, there's people out there who'll say 'why would you name a child that??' for me, it's names like Boris, Wayne, Keith... no offence to the Borises, Waynes and Keiths of the world! my name's Susan, feel free to hate it.

Re: Names

OMG we always crack up at work when a new strange name comes through. Some of the best have been:

Precious
Imunique (pronounced "i'm uneek)
Roper
Diamond

and my personal favorite:

Exclamation (supposedly the parents want the child to choose his own name when he's 18......who wouldn't???)

That reminds me of the episode of "Mad About You" where Jamie has the baby. Paul meets Bruce Willis at the hospital and mentions that they don't even have a name picked out - what did Bruce name his kids? Of course, the answer, "Rumor, Scout, and Tullulah Belle," got quite a laugh. (If you haven't seen this episode, check it out, it was hysterical!)

Of course, they named their child "Mabel" instead and "got a lot of heat for that" as they mentioned for the rest of the series.

Re: Names

We had a resident named Electron. His brother was Neutron and sister Nucleus. His family was from Africa. He would get VERY mad when someone made fun of his name!

Re: Names

It's Tallulah...that's how Tallulah Bankhead's name was spelled, she was a great favorite of my mom's.
Here in the ChiTown suburb, I had a pt whose nephew was first name was Ryno, middle name Wrigley...

Re: Names

I have seen two Sparkles, on the same day no less. I have also seen a Heavenleigh.

One time when I was in a bar with my friends (I was much younger then) I told some guy who was bothering me that my name was Genny-->short for Generic. I told him my parents wanted me to pick out my own name when I was an adult. My friends totally backed me up. He bought it hook, line and sinker. Ha ha, what an idiot.
