Fastest helo turnaround

Today was interesting. We got a helo pt with chest pain; when they were literally lifting off the pad again I was on the phone with their dispacther saying "Send them back!! We have a transfer!" They came back, loaded up a subdural pt and took off again. 5 minutes later dispatch calls and says they're coming back because the pt deteriorated. We scrambled around getting things set up, expecting the worst, saw them land.......and waited.

And waited.........

And waited..........

The door opened, a flight nurse stepped out on the skids

And we waited.........

Then the nurse got back in and the door closed. I ran outside and held my hands up in a "Huh?" expression, and the pilot and three nurses all waved goodbye as they lifted off again!

This is the kind of pt handoff we like!
