Hi everyone. I have read some discussions on this particular forum and it's pretty good. I wanted to know if anyone has started with an Emergency job with no experience in Emergency? and How was it? I was told that they would do training. I have some Telemetry and Peds experience.

Yes. I went into it straight out of nursing school. I had three months' experience as a CNA there but not as an RN. Someone with no experience is usually placed with a preceptor for 6-12 weeks. You should do great.

Same here, I went right into the ED after graduation and I had no healthcare experience at all except for my clinicals in school

Went into ED after 6 months Peds,orth experience. Got 6 full weeks of orientation with super staff. Haven't slowed down since

I had no ER experience too, had some experience as an office nurse. Had a great "fellowship" program at my facility that lasted about 3 mos. and a wonderful preceptor. You'll do great!
