Bugs in the ER?

Hey everyone,

I've been a tech in the ER for quite some time and I'm soon (in about 2 weeks) going to be an RN. Now, every now and again, I hear the ER nurses I work with say something about giving a patient a "grasshopper". What is a grasshopper?

Most likely what we call a green lady. More M I's have been cured with a green lady....when the enzymes are negative and so is the EKG, many times chest pain goes away with Donnnatol 5 cc's which is green and 15 cc's of mylanta.
Many gall bladder attacks are worst than M I chest pain, green ladies save the day

Thumbs up

Good answer! The recipe I learned is Donnatol, (atropine, scopolomine and phenobarb) 10cc, Maalox 30, and the last coupla places I been add 10cc of viscous lidocaine. BTW V.L. is also great for NG tubes and foleys.
