Re: University of Texas (Houston)

I'm not sure about a minimum. My guess is that you would want above a 3.2 for GPA and above average on the NET as minimum requirements. The program is very competitive so my guess is the higher your scores the better your chance for an interview. If your GPA is not very high I would recommend studying very hard for the NET. The best thing to do is to contact the school and see if they can give you the information that you are requesting. It is a great school! Let me know if you need further information.

Not sure but they also do an interview... I had a 4.0 going in and didn't get in because I was a youngin' w/ no experience outside of community college prereqs.

Re: University of Texas (Houston)

I applied to HBU, TWU & UT for Fall 2008. I presently have 3.475 GPA and didn't do that great on The Net. I'm retaking two classes this semester which should pull my GPA up to 3.7. I have already been turned down by HBU but am very hopeful for UT since that is my first choice. Where all have you applied? I don't think we will know anything until end of March or first of April. I'm hopeful it will be sooner.

Whatever you do....don't give up. I did not get in to UT the first time I applied, so I asked them to renew my application. The next year, I got an interview and was accepted. This is only my second semester, but so far it seems to be a good program. Good luck in your endeavors.

Thanks
The second time you applied, what GPA did you have and what where your NET scores. Good luck with school, future nurse.

I don't remember my NET scores (don't worry about the NET, it isn't that hard). My GPA was around 3.8. I don't know if it mattered, but I had been working as a nurse's aide for many years. Let me know if you have any more questions and good luck.

Re: University of Texas (Houston)

Are you working while you are in the nursing program? I heard that the first few semesters were so tough that you really couldn't work and keep up with the study load. Is that true?

Also, when UT called you in for an interview how long was that past the deadline. For Fall 2008 the deadline was January 15th so I'm wondering if I will have to wait until March to hear anything. The waiting is killing me because everyone is asking me everyday have you heard anything yet?

Re: University of Texas (Houston)

Ester,
I have an interview this week for the accelerated program at UT. Since the deadline was earlier (12/1), it makes sense that they may not be interviewing for the fall program yet! Good luck to you!!!

Congratulations!!! That's awesome. I hope your interview goes well. So you have a Bachelor degree already and now your going for your BSN? How did they contact you for an interview, phone or letter?
