Re: TCC Spring 2008 Applicants?

Are you thinking of applying to the regular nursing program at TCC?? If so why???? You know they have a fast track now but they only take apps in Jan/Feb.. I spent 13 year trying to get TASP/Thea/TSI complete in Math. I finally passed algebra in the spring at TCC. Did you not score high enough to start in Beginning Algebra. I would take Intermediate algebra ( when you are eligible to) and then try to CLEP out of algebra. I almost passed like this but they accidentally shut off my puter while I was testing and I got mad and had to start over.

This 3-step remediation program includes classes in Arithmetic, Beginning Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra. Without a miracle or prayer, I am stuck in a rut for now.

I'd like to apply to the fast-track LVN-to-RN program at TCC, but I still need to be TSI complete to do so.

I scored so low on the math accuplacer that I have to start with the arithmetic class. I attempted to take it earlier this year, but the pace was too fast for me.

Re: TCC Spring 2008 Applicants?

I have a silly question, Does anyone have the study guide for the TEAS test?
I thought I might try here first and see if anyone had it, if not then I'll go buy it at the bookstore. Thanks!

TCC stands for Tarrant County College...it used to be TCJC, Tarrant County Junior College...but they dropped the Junior sometime ago and now it's just TCC.

Re: TCC Spring 2008 Applicants?

I have applied for spring 08, attended orientation last week and took the teas exam last Saturday. My GPA overall is 4.0, my percentile for science in the teas is 87 and math 74 but the English screwed me up. If science and math really carry more weight like we were told at orientation, then I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Ladies did anyone realize how the science was not even close to the review in the book talk less about the time for the math. I was so disappointed. I ‘m very scared as I wait to hear from the school to see if I am in or not. I haven’t slept in days although people I know who are in the program have given me encouraging news because of my grades and completion of all the pre requites and my percentile for math and science. God help me and u all. I will keep u posted abt my status can’t wait for DEC to come.

Ladyk, care to elaborate on the differences between the TEAS prep book and the actual exam?

Re: TCC Spring 2008 Applicants?

Hendershot, the TEAS book makes you study A&P 1 &2, Chem and Physic, but none of the questions in the exam is directly related to them. It is very annoying as I studied this book to the core. The one thing good abt the book though is that, the math, is definately related to the exam.

Dropped off the application package today. It was kind of anticlimactic putting it inside of a big steel box. Now it's time to wait...

Re: TCC Spring 2008 Applicants?

I recieved a letter today that says thanks for applying and was sent to inform me that my application is complete. I guess I'll take that as good news for now. Good luck to all applicants.
