Its true that Ms. Grant is the only teacher for our saturday class. Shes great.
I've heard horrible things about Ms. Reyes. IS that really all true? I hear shes notorious for putting stuff in her tests thats irrelevant as well. GOSH. thats sucks!
Ms. Grant said that the only way to do well on the weekly quizzes is to actually read. BC alot of that stuff is VERY random and everyone gets different questions.
Just a little hint for the people that have Mrs. Reyes she does not go over all the material that she puts in her test questions I had her for a couple of lectures and she does teach all over the place. It's best to just thoroughly read all of the chapters and make your own notes and pay close attention to the patient teaching boxes!!! She will ask questions over material that was not covered in lecture or notes so just read and you should be okay!!!
Good Luck everyone I hope to see you in the fall!!
I cringe when i see graduated HCC students who cant start IVs, try to catherize the vagina and dont see a problem with it. I have seen more and more issues working with HCC rns. now that could be they were poor students. but after reading about all the issues and seeing hc instructors aandon students on my unit im not too impressed. also the secretary and chair are jokes. misinformamation and outright laziness apeared to run rampant in my short stint with them. i guess it goes back to the saying the evil you know all about appears more evil than the one you dont. just a thought... ps it sounds better in spanish.
I also work at a ER and I have been told by many of the nurses there that they didn't start IV's until they graduated. Many of them tell me that the nursing program is mainly theory and they are not HCC graduates they are TWU and UT graduates!!
so how did you guys do on the 1st test? I really though I was going to do better! but I'm ok with an 80%, I really though I had the Adrenergic system down, but those questions just confused me! LOL!

You still did good!!!! And yeah the test questions are quite tricky but it does help you enhance your critical thinking skills which enables you to use the appropriate knowledge and skilled judgments in delivering patient care.
Good Luck on your next test!!
The test was really hard. The guy sitting next to me was like freaking out and moving in his chair and sighing. I always second guess myself but, I did really well. I got 90% and I almost wanted to do a dance.
I was also told that I will have to find someway to finance my education other than financial aid. So I guess private loans??
So they have sent out letters already? I haven't gotten anything...oh no...

Don't worry about it. All the students in PHARM still have to take one more test and the math test. Ms. Grant told our class that the secretary did already pull out files... and that doesnt apply to us just yet! Just keep getting A's and you will get in! Ms. Grant said that out of 250+ students only about 12 made A's so you are one of those
Ok that's good news to hear. I would have been like ***** Our second test isn't until the 16th and the math test on the 23rd.
Now that the first test is over I know exactly what to study. I'm getting nervous even though I have an A. I look at the class stats and half the class is at least passing.
