Believe it or not I've lived in SC all my life and have only been to HH once and that was back in the 60's!

Welcome to the State! I believe HH is fairly expensive. http://www.sciway.net/city/hiltonhead.html has a lot of information about HH and also the surrounding areas like Beaufort. (BYOOO-fort) in SC. In NC it's BO-fort

Hilton Head is a nice place to visit and live. Go for it!

Have you taken a look at Hilton Head Regional? I have heard it is great! and a little further drive you can go to Roper Saint Francis?
Check those out, you won't be disappointed.

Roper St. Francis wouldn't be an easy drive from HH. It's in Charleston and you'd be stuck on Hwy 17. Hwy 17 is always a nightmare!

BTW-from what I've heard of HH, it is very expensive to live in HH itself, you might want to try slightly out of town-then you can live like a normal person instead of having to deal with tourist prices, activity and traffic all the time. It's fun to play tourist at first, but as a lifestyle, the novelty wears out quickly. (I lived in MB since 1995, so I should know-MB is nothing but tourists!)

I have lived on Hilton Head Island and worked at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center for fifteen years. It has grown tremendously in that time and we now have a very active open heart program. The hospital is extremely progressive and open to new ideas. The location is wonderful and hospital staff still treat each other as family with a great sense of unity. (Of course I'm biased.) I came here from a 1000 bed facility in Houston where the only people you got to know were the nurses on your unit. This is so different. If you have any specific questions I can answer please let me know.

Am looking at moving to Charlotte area. Anybody know top wage scale for critical care rn in rock hill/charlotte area hospitals. have 12 yrs experience. Any gen info on tenent/presby or cms would also be apprec. Thanks
