I really want to work at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I work nearby and I love the area. I'm not a nurse but I'm studying to be a nurse and I want to start at CHOP to get my foot in the door. Every nurse that I know that works at CHOP appears to be happy. It seems so hard to GET IN. Is it possible to work at CHOP?

Several girls I will be graduating with received job offers from CHOP. So, yes, it is possible to work your way in as a new grad! Best of luck.

Yup... I know 2 of my good friends that will be starting at CHOP in JULY as New Grads! So it is def not impossible.

OK next Q-- what steps should be taken to get a job at CHOP? Obviously apply and follow up with phone calls... then what?

I think that pretty much sums it up...apply, then call about your resume...it will get forwarded to the appropriate recruiter who will in turn contact you and the process will begin from there...the only thing that I was advised from HR is that unlike experienced nurses who can submit applications to multiple departments, they ask that new grads choose and pursue only 1 department.

They are a very new grad friendly facility.

Don't forget to apply at Children's Seashore House, right behind CHOP> they do peds rehab staus post trauma, spinal cord, cva, trach, vent, feeding difficulty, locked brain injury, I loved that job!!!

yeh someone reminded me about seashore, but i thought it was a part of CHOP and I would have to go through them.
are they a seperate entity?
