Re: Part Time Programs?

Hi, I'm not sure if you mean your wife already started a nursing program if not maybe you want to look into CAT Brandywine for her. It is an LPN program I believe for 1 year and then she could bridge to an RN program for 1 more year. It looks like they have a part time program too.

Villanova has a BSN express program that you can complete in 14 months but it starts in May. I am not sure if they have a part time program.

Re: Part Time Programs?

Harcum also has a part-time nursing program but it looks like their NCLEX pass rates are pretty low. See link below.

Re: Part Time Programs?

Brandywine Hospital has a diploma program. I think Neumann College and Widener have evening/weekend BSN programs.

Re: Part Time Programs?

Well, after taking a look around it looks like I'm going to be stuck waiting for next fall - Widener would be too expensive, and the other local schools have waiting lists.

May not be a bad thing actually. I'm going to an info session for DCCC, and if I apply for 2009 it will let me get my pre-requisites out of the way beforehand. Its one thing to walk in with a > 3.0 GPA in business, but if I have 4-6 science classes with As on the list as well, that looks even better!

Congratulations on your health! A very inspiring story indeed.

Villanova has 2 options for the BSN Express. One is the weekday which takes 14 months and begins each May. The other is the night/weekend which takes 2 years and begins each August. Go the website and call Susan Leighton. She is very friendly and wants to help people who want to become nurses.

Catholic schools like Villanova and Neumann will require 2 Theology classes as prereqs, along with all the others. Call them nonetheless.

Tuition was very reasonable. She gave me a ballpark of $34K for EVERYTHING so I could get started with financial aid resources.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

Re: Part Time Programs?

I am actually a few years away from any program considering I need about 9 prerequisites. When I am ready, as long as this program is still in place, I think Villanova is the one for me.

The nursing department took a lot of time on the phone to answer my questions. They got the packet to me very quickly. When I called West Chester (my alma mater) I had to deal with attitude, short answers, and a general unwillingness to help me.

Good luck!
