I live north of Pittsburgh and currently work in a large LTC, alzheimers and subacute facility. Been a nurse for 11 years now and have worked most of the critical care departments including being on a specialty transport team. It would be nice to get together for lunch with some other nurses from the area.

I just moved to Warrington, PA from CA. I just started with KForce Staffing, and I've never worked Med/Surg specifically before so I"m a bit nervous. Tonight is my first shift. I've read lots of great info about new to med/surg, but I fear that being from staffing I wont get much of an orientation. I hope I catch on quick.

Btw, I'm 25 years old and an LVN for 2.5 years.

Spring -03 grad from Canada now working in a Cardio Thoracic ICU in SE Pa.
Loving it so far.....do find it a little overwhelming at times being a new grad, but the staff, physicians, and surgeons are very helpful.

Nice to hear from everyone!

Since your last post how has things been working for Kforce? I just applied and was interviewed yesterday in their Pittsburgh office. How has the experience been working for that agency? I'm an LPN from the S.W. Pa area.....namely Fayette County...would appreciate any of your thoughts on if I should continue persuing this............thanks.Fortunately i have 2 years each of Med-surg and LTC experience. I'm 48 and have been LPN for 4 years.
If anyone else has had experience with this agency...would like to hear your experiences...whether good or bad.

Cool From N.E. Pa.

I lived and worked in N.E. Pa. untill 2000. I started travel nursing and am currently in El Paso Texas. Yeehaw! I wanted to get away for the winter and the weather is great here. Ive seen enough snow and sunless days to last a lifetime. The thing I seem to be missing the most (besides old friends and family) are pine trees and GRASS!They have alot of mountains here, but its all rock, sand and cactus. Its all good though. Its nice to explore different parts of the country. I worked in Philly for a year at Presby and left in Dec. to come here. I found out that the big city is not for me.Its nice to visit, but living there was such a hassle. I defineitly am a mountain girl at heart. Its nice to know that I can come to this forum when I'm feeling a bit homesick!
