House Professional Licensure Committee to Hold Hearing on Massage Therapist Licensing

WHAT: The House Professional Licensure Committee will travel to Philadelphia
to hold a public hearing on House Bill 2078, which would require that massage therapists in Pennsylvania be licensed by the Commonwealth.

WHO: Rep. Tom Gannon (R-Delaware), chairman, Professional Licensure Committee; members of the committee; Basil L. Merenda, commissioner, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs; Dr. Kate Rufolo, first vice president, Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association; Rhetta Flagg and Nancy Porambo, both from the American Massage Therapy Association; Melodie Adinolfi, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals; Terry Tosh, Pennsylvania Body Therapy Association; Christopher J. Bacskai, doctor of chiropractic medicine; Paul F. Parker, director of certification, National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork; and Leena Guptha, D.O.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 28

TIME: Noon to 2 p.m.
