Don't know where to start!

I am currently a CNA in a LTACH but I want to start my journey to becoming a nurse. The only problem is I don't quite know where to start.

I live in PA and I'm pretty much leaning towards going to HACC. Can anybody in this area or anyone in general help me out and point me in the right direction? I know I need certain prerequisites but I'm not sure of what they are. Can I do the prerequisites online or do I still have to attend classes on a campus?

Any foresight would greatly help, thanks.
Brandy.

Re: Don't know where to start!

Contact the school and if possible, make an appointment with someone who can "map out" their prerequisites and other admissions requirements for you. Also ask about the program itself so that you can plan for what to expect etc. It's a long-established program and they almost certainly have written material or a website that summarizes that sort of information for prospective students. They may also have periodic "orientation sessions" for prospective students. If they do, attend one of them and introduce yourself to the staff there.

That's how you get started. You contact the school and start talking with them. Don't be afraid to pick up the phone, visit a website, or send an e-mail. There are almost always "people on the other end" of that communication who are prepared to answer your questions.

Good luck!
