Sooooooooooo....

...have any of you PA. nurses written the Governor's office about his "commercial" ? I would think this to be the opportunity of a lifetime to round up a few nurses and meet with him.

His commercial is a real "door opener" to some possible "eye openers" for the man. You now have the golden opportunity to point out just why his commercial is so unreallistic, and perhaps even have some meaningful dialogue.

You might even consider asking him to put those scrubs back on for just one day and follow you nurses around for a full 12 hour shift.. continuously at your heels... no breaks unless you do, no meals unless you do, and he might just gain a little better understanding of why he made that commercial to begin with... and see it from a different perspective.

I don't know, but it seems to me a lucrative opportunity which should not be wasted... should be jumped on NOW... he opened the door, so walk right in and take advantage of the moment ! You may not get another !

I know you're right, jnette.

I did a search and here's an email address where we can write him our views:

http://sites.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Governor/govmail.html

I'm heading off to write my email now, and hope others will join me. Thanks for the nudge!

I just sent my email complaining about the commercial and gave the Guv an earful about why there is NOT a true nursing shortage, but there is a shortage of nurses willing to work in the current conditions at the bedside. I also threw in some stuff about PA's skyrocketing malpractice insurance which put our hospital in the red for the first time ever last year. We're "in the black" now, but that's only because they've raised our nurse-to-patient ratios.

RN PA? WAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOOOOO! YOU GO GIRL.

Somehow it's hard to picture him in a nurses uniform. The mushroom hat? Now that's a horse of a dirrerent color. Yes indeedie. I think he'd look very good in it.

I thought maybe I was the only one that though this was a dumb ass commercial. Like all we have to do is get pillows for people!
I'd like to see Fast Eddie up to his elbows in a Code Brown or doing PM care on a baby! That might as well of been an ad for the hotel industry.

Amen, dawngloves-- My sentiments exactly! I usually call him Fast Eddie, too!

I haven't received a response to my email sent to him about the commercial. I don't really expect to either, unfortunately.

I never saw the ad with Rendell but since I'm a state hospital employee I'd like him to come and do my job .See if he'd have a smile then!
