Nurses' Agricultural Education Project

The Nurses' Agricultural Education Project, (NAEP), at the University of Kentucky is sponsored by NIOSH. Any graduate nurse,(either Masters or Doctoral candidate), or nursing faculty who is interested in doing research or developing an educational program related to agricultural or rural health or safety should apply for funding. This is the last year of the grant and they are seeking applicants. To apply, contact Dr. Deborah Reed at: dbreed01@pop.uky.edu

Thank You Vicky!

I have written to Dr. Reed because my research interest should be most appropriate to this project. I will confirm this with her of course. One thing that I have found in my career as a RN is that the lack of interest by our society towards long-term care settings fires my passion for the area. I have investigated elder abuse in every single facility that I have been the Director of Nursing. I also have seen such abuse in hospital settings and in fact, it seems to be hidden better in the hospital environment. These vulnerable elderly are my calling indeed.

Thanks so much for the information,

Barbara
