Nurse Educator in UK hoping to work in USA

I am currently a senior lecturer in Mental Health. I am interested in working over in the USA. I was wondering if the USA Nursing education system employed UK educated Mental Health Nurses? Are there faculty members that solely lecture in mental health? Hope someone can help.

Re: Nurse Educator in UK hoping to work in USA

There are plenty of nursing faculty members who lecture only in mental health (I've been one), but every nursing education position I've ever seen required that you be licensed to practice as an RN in the state where the school is located. So the first hurdle for you would be obtaining licensure in the US -- and I know there are others on this board much more knowledgeable on this topic than I, but I believe there are significant difficulties for UK-educated mental health nurses obtaining RN licensure in the US because of differences in the two educational systems.
