Thumbs up NLN Summit: Transformation Begins With You, September 27-30

The theme of this year's summit, Transformation Begins With You, has meaning for all of us involved in nursing education and all those impacted by nursing care. Being a nurse educator, especially today, provides each of us with opportunities for collaboration, faculty development, role modeling, and innovation; for teaching, learning, and scholarship; for leadership in times of change.

Summit Objectives:
  • Describe changes and anticipated trends in higher education that have
  • implications for transforming nursing education.
  • Envision approaches to reforming nursing education to achieve our preferred
  • future.
  • Articulate characteristics of environments that support innovation and the
  • navigation to new horizons in nursing education.
  • Discuss innovative approaches being used in nursing education related to
  • one or more of the following areas:
  • Identify gaps in knowledge related to areas outlined in NLN’s Priorities for:
diversity and cultural issues, technology, education-practice collaboratives,
student values development and professional socialization, evidence-based
teaching practices, faculty development and growth, teacher-student relationships, student and faculty recruitment and retention, nursing education
    politics, and clinical teaching.
  • Research in Nursing Education.
