“Nuts and Bolts,” the National League for Nursing’s First Technology Conference, is targeted to nurse educators who are new to technology, but interested in learning how to develop and implement new approaches to educating students of nursing, using technology. Nationally and internationally known speakers will present the “state of the art” of technology use in nursing education, and specific information that will help participants move forward with their own technology plans for their nursing program.

Conference Objectives

Describe the state of the art in the use of technology for nursing education.
Examine challenges and issues associated with web-based education
Analyze best practices in teaching and learning as applied to web-based courses.
Describe the benefits and challenges of the use of simulation for teaching.
Identify the essential considerations for building a team to implement technology initiatives.
List three technology tools that would enhance student learning in the classroom and clinical area.
Discuss the incorporation of informatics into the curriculum and how teaching from structured data and information can prepare students for evidence-based practice.
Describe the use of the innovative process to maximize the use of technology in nursing education.
Create a plan to incorporate technology into teaching/learning activities in your nursing program.

Sounds like a great conference!

I think many nurse educators are behind other educators in regard to technology. This would be an excellent seminar if the poor educator could afford it...but, perhaps some programs would pay for them to go.
