Where can I find something in print about models for orienting new grad RNs and training preceptors how to orient new grad RNs to ICU? Our ICU is having problems trying to learn how to do this...we need ideas. Not much on the internet! Please help asap

You might need to start in the library. Are you familiar with Dorothy del Bueno? Her oritentation program "Performance Based Development System" is well published and I know she has an annual conference for nurse educators who are clients of her services -- a "users" conference. Look her up, it is a solid place to start.

Also, be sure to review the Journal of Nursing Staff Development and the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing -- both are likely to highlight articles about new programming ideas that work!
