Hello,

I was wondering if many BSN's choose minors. I'd like to minor in subjects related to education. eg history and or ethics. Or are they sought at the MSN level ? Are these minors uncommon ? Most nurse educators I speak to usually encourage clinical specialities, but I just love the study of nursing history and ethics.

Thanks for any input.

My BSN program was full of courses related to nursing. There was no room for anything else and no need since I intended only to do nursing. HOWEVER, once I got in grad school I had to choose a "track". The choices at my school were education, management/administration and nurse practitioner. Some people got an MBA with the MSN. If you have the luxury of not having to work and intend to do something special with coursework not related to nursing then go right ahead. It is your choice.
